Background
The Emory Climate Research Initiative (ECRI), established by Provost Ravi Bellamkonda, focuses on addressing the impacts of climate change through research, policy, and community engagement. ECRI’s flagship project, the Climate and Health Indicator Dashboard for Georgia, tracks county-level connections between climate change and public health across the state. The initiative also sends student delegations to the UN Climate Talks each year, providing future leaders with firsthand experience in global climate negotiations. By generating innovative climate mitigation and adaptation solutions, ECRI supports sustainability and enhances community resilience in the Southeastern U.S.
Mission/Vision
ECRI aims to establish the university as a national leader in climate change scholarship, solutions, and impact while serving as a regional anchor institution for our shared response to climate change.
